It was Monday, December 10th that the case came to light. Sister Mary Margaret Keuper, principal of St. James Catholic School in Torrance near Los Angeles, California, and her very good friend Sister Lana Chang, a fourth-grade teacher, had just admitted to misappropriating checks. The value of these checks worked out to about $500.000 over more than ten years. With this money, the two friends had embarked on frequent trips to casinos in Las Vegas.
